You can become a volunteer at the museum in a variety of ways:
Become a Docent
Docents are an integral part of educating about Jefferson County. They share the history of the region with visitors of all ages, including guests from all over the country. Previous experience is not necessary as full training is provided. If you are interesting in helping, please contact the museum at (740) 283-1133.
Become an Intern
JCHA has opportunities for graduate and undergraduate students to gain experience in research, genealogy, history, and library science. Students can also work in digital archiving. For more information, contact Barry Bardone at 740-283-1133.
Become a Volunteer
Volunteers can work closely with board members to archive materials and collections, as well as digitize photos for our database. Legible, neat handwriting is essential as is attention to detail and good typing skills. Full training is provided.
Service hours may be offered to High School students when needed. Contact our office for more information.
